There’s something truly special about capturing a family as they await the arrival of a new baby, and this recent session was no exception. With the serene beauty of the lake, tall trees, and golden grasses surrounding us, the evening light provided the perfect backdrop for this family of three soon to become four.

Mom, dad, and the sweetest Big Sister were simply glowing with excitement as they celebrated this season of their lives. Big sister was full of energy and joy, and she was an important part of the session from the very start. It’s clear she can’t wait to step into her new role, and she brought so much love and enthusiasm to every photo we took.

As we ventured through the tall grasses and beside the lake, I had the pleasure of capturing mom and dad in a few intimate moments together. These quiet moments between the two of them felt so peaceful and serene, surrounded by nature, as they took a moment to themselves before welcoming their new baby.

And then, in one of the sweetest, most unprompted moments of the evening, Big Sister ran up to them while they were taking photos, gently placed her hands over her mom’s belly in the shape of a heart, and stood there, beaming. It was one of those moments where time seems to stand still, a perfect reminder of the love already surrounding this little one even before their arrival.
