Welcome, Friends!

Welcome to my NEW BLOG!!  I am so excited to have this new platform to share my work, my life, and my dreams with all of you!  Putting this site together has been such a labor of love, and I can’t believe it’s finally complete.  For those of you who know me, you know that technology and I do not get along.  At all.  I would take a pencil and paper over a computer ANY DAY!  Thankfully, My David is GREAT with computers, technology, coding, and basically everything that I struggle with.  Unfortunately, we do not work great together (something to do with stubborn streaks and wanting to do things our own way), BUT we made it work and I can’t say how glad I am to be done and start sharing some pretty with you all!  So, although the process of getting my new site up and running was probably harder for me than it should have been, now I can appreciate it so much more!  And don’t expect a re-brand anytime in the next 10 years!

The purpose for this site is to share my photography journey and give you a glimpse into not only my life, but the lives of my clients (hopefully turned friends!!)!  I want to be a real voice and show that a mom of two with a full time job who hits the gym hard a few times a week to try to get back into shape, with a husband who works full time AND is in school full time,  can ALSO pursue and make her dreams come true!  Wow, just reading that last sentence makes me tired!  Am I really attempting to start a photography business in the midst of all that?!  YES!  This is definitely happening because I am tired of letting life go by without chasing what I WANT and what I NEED.  Simply, photography makes me happy.  And although I have other things in my life that make me incredibly happy (shout out to the family!!), I want to DO SOMETHING more with my life than just sit in a cubicle (there is NOTHING wrong with that if that is what you enjoy, experience has just shown me that it’s not my cup of tea!).  I want to show my kids that even if their dream is not the norm, they need to go for it, because if you never try you can never succeed.

I will leave it at that for the time being.  I am looking forward to getting some pretty pictures up soon and I hope you come back to see more!  Please feel free to browse the site and visit my other pages to learn more about me and Samantha June Photography.  If you are interested in a lifestyle photo session please contact me, I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you!

I’d take pencil & paper any day too! For sure. All my to-do lists are on paper – as soon as I type them up, I forget about them. 🙂 But congrats on starting the new blog – can’t wait to see what comes of it! 🙂

Wow! I really admire you for going after your dreams with all of those things going on in your life. That takes a determined person to be able to do that. But, what I admire even more is that you are doing this to show your children that they should go after their dreams. I love how you said, “even if they aren’t the norm”. Your kids have a GREAT mom! Good luck on your journey Samantha!
    • Oh my goodness! Thank you so much Destinee! You have no idea how much that means to me coming from a well established photographer like yourself! I have so much doubt some days, but I know if I don’t at least go for it I will always wish I had!
